The Prada 2002 Re-Edition Bag: 7 Original Versions That Prove Better Investments
Released in Dec. of 2023, the Prada Re-Edition 2002 Nylon Shoulder Bag is one of the brands most recent addition to their now well-known re-edition collection; and I have to say, this is my favorite style I have seen re-emerge from this collection.
However, considering the brief history of the re-edition series (2019-current), I find myself hesitant to invest over $1,500 in this bag. Given its vintage design (albeit with minor updates, hence 're-edited'), there's already a vibrant secondhand market for these bags even before they launch, where one can acquire original versions of what is essentially the same style for a fraction of the price. So, why not take advantage of it?
Well, for one, they are harder to find. Due to its resurgence in popularity, the 2002 Tessuto shoulder bag (OG 2002 Re-edition)—with re-nylon and leather—has become increasingly difficult to find at a reasonable price point on the secondhand market. A similar trend was observed with the 2005 model back in 2020, which initially was scarce but later saw a surge in availability. However, it is worth noting that this bag is naturally more elusive than 2005 ever was. But don't worry; I've done the legwork and found 7 vintage versions of this bag that are currently available for less.
